Westbound US 290 Traffic Shift from Patton Ranch Road to Oak Meadow Drive
- As early as August 2024, westbound US 290 traffic will shift to the new westbound US 290 frontage road from Patton Ranch Road to Oak Meadow Drive.
- Traffic at the ‘Y’ Interchange of US 290 and SH 71 will shift north to new pavement. Eastbound US 290 traffic east of the ‘Y’ will remain on existing pavement.
- All activity is subject to change and weather permitting.
Old Bee Caves Road Access to Westbound US 290 Frontage Road
- In August 2024, Old Bee Caves Road will become a right in/right out to the new westbound US 290 frontage road.
- Eastbound US 290 drivers will make a signalized U-turn at William Cannon Drive for access to Old Bee Caves Road.
- Drivers exiting Old Bee Caves Road will continue to use the U-turn in place along SH 71 north of the ‘Y’ Interchange for access to eastbound US 290.
- All activity is subject to change and weather permitting.
Hill Oaks Drive Right In/Right Out to Eastbound US 290
- In mid-August, access to Hill Oaks Drive at US 290 will change to a right in/right out from eastbound US 290.
- Two-way neighborhood and business access will be maintained in this configuration for at least a month, weather permitting.
- All closures are subject to change and weather permitting.
Circle Drive Bridge Opens
- Aug. 18, 2024, the Circle Drive/South View Road cross-street bridge over US 290 will open.
- Drivers will continue to use the temporary traffic signal at Thunderbird Road for access to Circle Drive.
- A four-way stop at Circle Drive and Mowinkle Drive will provide access to South View Road using the new cross-street bridge.
- All activity is subject to change and weather permitting.
Wolfcreek Pass/Hill Oaks Drive Access to US 290
- In September, Hill Oaks Drive will close at US 290 and access to Wolfcreek Pass from US 290 will change.
- Drivers will use the traffic signal at Convict Hill Road to access the new eastbound US 290 frontage road and Wolfcreek Pass.
- Traffic will be two-way on the future eastbound US 290 frontage road from Convict Hill Road to Wolfcreek Pass during this temporary configuration.
Scenic Brook Drive Cross-Street Bridge Closure

In early May 2024, cross-street access for Scenic Brook Drive at US 290 closed. Access to Scenic Brook Drive is maintained from westbound US 290.

Temporary turnarounds are in place to assist drivers heading from Scenic Brook Drive to eastbound US 290, and from eastbound US 290 to Scenic Brook Drive.
Eastbound US 290 Shifts to New Frontage Road Between William Cannon Drive and Old Fredericksburg Road
- In April, eastbound US 290 traffic between William Cannon Drive and Old Fredericksburg Road shifted to the new eastbound US 290 frontage road.
- McCarty Lane is a right in/right out.
- Joe Tanner Lane is Oak Hill Youth Sports Association access only.
- A U-turn is in place along westbound US 290 before William Cannon Drive for drivers to access the eastbound US 290 frontage road.
Old Bee Caves Road Right In/Right Out at 'Y' Interchange
- In March 2024, access to Old Bee Caves Road opened as a right in/right out along westbound SH 71 north of the 'Y' Interchange.
- Drivers travelling eastbound on SH 71 will continue to detour to Fletcher Lane.
Westbound US 290 Mainlane Shift Between Hudson Loop and Thunderbird Road
- In late March 2024, westbound US 290 traffic shifted to the new westbound US 290 frontage road between Hudson Loop and Thunderbird Road.
- Cross-street access will be maintained at Scenic Brook Drive and El Rey Boulevard.
US 290 Mainlane Shift Between Tara Lane and Thunderbird Road
- In early 2024, westbound US 290 traffic shifted south to the new lowered US 290 mainlanes between Tara Lane and Thunderbird Road.
